Manuscript (Loose-leaf with binder)Language/Translation Info: EnglishSummary: Thick, documented official history of this US Army unit which was composed of Filipinos in the United States. The Filipinos were specially chosen from the 1st and 2nd Filipino Regiments in the US and sent to Australia for special commando and intelligence training. Filipinos in this unit were then dispatched to the Japanese-held Philippines by submarine and conducted their dangerous assignments with courage. Includes military orders and several reports of Filipino officers about their respective experiences – among them those by Second Lt. Delfin YuHico, who was with the Villamor penetration team in early 1943; Capt. Ricardo Galang who was with the Phillips mission to Mindoro; and Lt. Valera, who headed the team which was landed in Ilocos Norte in 1944. All these missions were fraught with danger and death if captured by the Japanese, but the Filipino volunteers met the challenges with courage and determination. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
